To add to her A level Psychology last week, and her A* in Statistics GCSE last year, E today picked up her main GCSE results - 4 A grades and 6 A* grades.
A happy family!

catherine, GCSEs (takena t 16) go from A* to G, with A* being the top grade. Percentages of pupils achieving A* vary according to the subject taken but it is the best you can do in any case; an A grade is not to be sneezed at! The government target is for pupils to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C - about 70% of the pupils at my daughter's school did that. She probably got the best results in her school when her A level result is taken into account - there were other pupils who got one more GCSE than she did but they didn't do an A level (usually taken at age 18 - to take one at 16 is very exceptional and E was the only pupil in her yeargroup of about 270 pupils to do so.) So the girl done good!
