BLPT Performance Report

It's now on their site and can be found here.

I looked through it all, and am now looking in more detail at individual sections.
A comment that interested me in the Complaints section:
A complaint received within PoWA services concerned the length of time to find out the results of a blood test, and as a result they will in future advise service users of the process and expected time to receive results.

This reminded me of Mandy's postings regarding her problems obtaining the results of her blood trust (yep, same trust!)

So their solution to the problem of blood test results taking too long is to tell the patient how long the test results will take?
But not to appear to do anything decisive when test results take an inordinately long time to appear (or don't appear at all).
Hmmmm.

This is a Trust which is concerned about its service user survey results.

Hi C

Considering my latest round of communications with the Trust, and GP, over the missing blood test results...am double whammied by the fact that someone else formally complained and the resulting BLPT response was not about ensuring staff follow up on what they say they are going to do but changing the goalpoast.

From this I would assume staff will be carrying on ignoring people and all patients can expect is to be told when they are going to get blood test results.

What happens when blood test results go missing?

Are patients going to be informed that they are not likely to get their blood test results at all?

As a performance indicator it indicates that no performance is really necessary. Ha! Ha!

Indeed, M.

Glad your results came through at last, but so sorry it has taken you so much effort to get them.
