Book crossing

Someone mentioned a scheme to me for leaving books around for others to find and read. well, today I found a site that promotes and tracks this, at http://www.bookcrossing.com/ Check it out! I'm off to hunt out a couple of books i can bear to pass on (I know i have some double copies somewhere!) and, as I am going in to town tomorrow, will aim to drop off my first copies then. Hopefully someone will pick them up...

Book crossing eh?

Is that where people go to Doctors' surgeries and leave them there? Or something similar?

Novel.

I was reading my latest in the wee hours. Haven't had concentration lately but was strapped for summat to do and got back into it.

I have 2 self help books pending. The Playful Self and Surviving Breakdown but can't stomach them at present. I think because I am apt to absorb everything and go off on all sorts of tangents. Self help books need a focussed mind to start with. lols

Anyway, will be interested to find out how your book crossing goes.

I've signed up but now have to work out how to do it, and what kind of book to choose to do it with - something I love and think the world should read or something I wish I'd never had the need to buy?

Hi Mandy

It's something like that, yes. You can see more on the site. I'm hoping the books will be picked up and enjoyed.

Jessica - thanks, and thanks for coming by. Hang on in there.

Katie - I know, I have been thinking of it for some time but just happened to find the site this week. It's coincided usefully with some book clearing, so here goes...

mmp - I suppose so! It's interesting though!

Marcella - I was a bit fearful at first, but having embarked on the process it is very easy. Finding the labels was the hardest part!
