Today we make our second attempt at this - hopefully it will be a good deal more successful than the first, last week. We have the hire car (very posh, arranged by our garage - a lovely man, our mechanic). No W (he's off for his interview) but E's friend S is coming along, so both E and H have a friend with them. We have the water, the tickets and the camera and we are going to get wet - expecially me! More later - possibly with photos.

Have a great time. Possibly one of the best days I've ever had was at Drayton Manor. It was R's birthday treat and we enjoyed the rides but, control freak that I am, I enjoyed the drive there and back most of all. A friend lent me his four wheel drive - oooh the sense of power.

Thanks. We had a great time - lots and lots of laughter and sillyness and getting wet - boy, did we get wet! Plus the kindness of the worker who found H's phone which she dropped on a ride, found my number in her phone book and rang it, then returned the phone to us. Plus the pleasure of driving the hire car - even if it was not always easy to recognise the speed we were travelling at! Like you, Marcella, I felt a huge sense of power... Favourite rides were the silly ones - the shoot out, the dodgems and the drunken barrels (teacups to the rest of us!)
