BLPT performance against national targets

This from their latest performance report:

Mental Health Trusts
Access to crisis resolution home treatment (CRHT) Amber
Best practice in mental health services for people with a learning disability. Amber
Care Programme Approach (CPA) 7 day follow up Green
Children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) Amber
Completeness of the Mental Health Minimum Data Sets (MHMDS) Green
Data quality on ethnic group Green
Delayed transfers of care Amber
Experience of patients – clinical quality domain(s) Amber
Experience of patients – health & wellbeing domain(s) Amber
Experience of patients – patient focus and access domain(s) Amber
Experience of patients – safety domain(s) Amber
NHS staff satisfaction Amber
Numbers of drug misusers in effective treatment Amber
Patterns of care from Mental Health Minimum Data Set (MHMDS) Green
Good to see some green (achieved) statements in there. Lots of amber too - which I think means they are nearly meeting the targets but not quite.

Yeah, but...

What exactly do

- completeness of Mental Health Minimum Data Sets

- patterns of care from Mental Health Minimum Data Sets

- data quality on ethnic groups

- Care Programme Approach 7 day follow up

mean? These are the only green ticks in the boxes.

What do they mean to patients?

The first three above basically mean that they keep records to an acceptable standard - the standard they set for themselves.

The Care Programme Approach follow up just tells us that patients got a follow up call or visit (how difficult is that to achieve?).

The key ones to look at, as I'm sure you know, are the amber ones....the patient experience and staff satisfaction. The information that is REALLY important.

nope, BLPT that's a big Red from me! Stop conning yourselves!
