Alternative Therapies

Just watched this programme, on meditation and mindfulness, which I recorded on Monday evening. It was very interesting. If you missed it and would like to see it, it's available online at this link. (But only for the next 5 days, though you can download it in which case you can view it for the next 30 days.)

Hi D

Sorry haven't commented back on any of your postings, was away a day and struggling not to take lozees at present...but reading and catching up.

I saw the programme but my mind kept wandering off so the link will be handy to look at.

Meditation, I think, is good but it needs dedication and focus to achieve. Not easily done for those of us who struggle with such disciplines but well worth it for those who can hack it.

30 minutes of Franz and his tense and relax cd is about as much focus as I get.

In respite care and also in the good old days of the day centre, there used to be relaxation and guided mediations. Group stuff, which doesn't suit everyone, and I found them very useful.

In the modern age of recovery, these things no longer take place...because there aren't the places for them to take place in. Is that progress?

Anyway, Hope things are good for you this Wednesday.

Hi Mandy; good to hear from you.

I remember finding relaxation sessions really useful too. Sometimes get them at the end of classes I go to at the gym.

Quiet day today - but did get to the gym with E. too much going on internally.

Well D,

I have too much going on externally.

Was holding my own until I got a load of incoming.

Again, perhaps we could meet up somewhere in the middle and find a balance eh?

So much for keeping off lozees. Over the weekend, I am going to take my phone out of its socket, switch off me mobile and play all my fav cds. perhaps that way I can have time to myself, without medication and interferance.

Hi Mandy

Sorry you have too much incoming. I think your weekend plans are excellent - hope they bring you the space and respite you need.

It told me it was a UK only thing.

You can't watch it from the web? What a shame. I could try downloading it and email it to you if you would like to see if that works? Let me know.
