...nearly all initiated by me, of course, the upshot is (from M's manager) that nobody can be allocated but in Sue's absence I can talk to M for support. That will be fine, because she is prepared to put all this behind her.
I'm now in a terrible state.
But that's OK, because M is prepared to put it all behind her.
I said M was the person I could not communicate with and was not willing to communicate with.
But it's OK because M is prepared to put it all behind her.
So what they are telling me is (a) my preferences / needs are not their concern and (b) nothing is going to change.
But M is prepared to put it all behind her, so that's OK then.

In the Eating Disorders world much is made of "The Minnesota Starvation Study" in which 36 specially selected healthy psychologically normal young male "volunteers" (the were conscientious objectors) were systematically kept on half rations for three months and closely observed before, during and after. ALL of them developed severe psychological problems around food which took a surprising amount of time to resolve.
I have a suggestion. Lets call it the Bedfordshire (or Gloucestershire, or Bristol, or anywhere really all these da*n services are similar) Psychiatric Services experiment. We'll select 36 healthy volunteers and put them through the degrading, confusing and downright ridiculous world of trying to access help from the psychiatric services and see if any of them come out with no mental health problems.
Thinking of you today as you decide what to do. If you decide to invite Caroline to trash the office I'd suggest to M that if she had any sense (which doesn't seem likely) she might perhaps put some of it in front of her to soften the blows.
I wish we could do this. I wish they would appear to be attempting to understand the needs of people who (after all) are in touch with them because they have some mental health issue. I wish I could trash the offices. Instead I have allowed tehm to win - but hopefully have preserved what remains of my sanity in the process. And the flurry of emails I have sent may at least make them notice that i am a person. No, on second thoughts, that isn't going to happen. I have taken some pleasure in sending that email to as many people as I possibly can, however.
