Well, that was good...

... good night's (and morning's!) sleep...
... enjoyed the omnibus Archers! ...
... got my planning and marking done inside my (self-imposed) deadline...
... sun shone...
... I chilled out...
... had a great meal at a Greek restaurant with H ....
... followed by a fantastic concert by the superb Chris and Kellie While.

What more could I ask, really?

sounds great. Will have to try the sleep lark myself when my family have stopped waking me up! Now that I'm awake I think I'll try the Archers omnibus too - thanks for the reminder.

Hooray - you're on a roll! Chocolate cake is the aspiration for next weekend, perhaps?

Ah, part of the meal was not chocolate cake (to which I am very partial!) but tartufo ice cream - stunningly decadent!

Mind you, more chocolate cake never comes amiss!

Thanks all.

hi there......sounds like you're finding your routine....and some fun along the way....

ok, i have two questions...

what is the Archers omnibus?

Who are Chris and Kellie While?

Can you tell I'm not on the same side of the Atlantic? :)

Hi Dana

The Archers is a radio "soap" - sometimes billed as "an everyday tale of country folk"! There are daily episodes, and the omnibus on Sunday is an hour plus combination of all of these. Pure escapism for me!

Chris and Kellie While are mother and daughter, both very talented singers, songwriters and instrumentalists in the broad folk style. There's a link to their website (or Chris' at least) from the front page of my blog. On Sunday their set mainly consisted of other people's songs, including the likes of Missisippi (written by Bob Dylan)and Persuasion by Richard Thompson. All of which may mean nothing to you, but I encourage you to seek out a sound clip on the web (I believe there is one on their MySpace site, which is linked from their own web site).
