Confusion

Having written to discharge myself from (non-existent) CMHT support, on Friday I received an appointment to see my much trusted psychiatrist.

I don't know whether to cancel it or keep it.

well you could always ask that psychiatrist yourself, using the same question used here..........

Since you feel you can trust him, I'd definitely at least contact him to ask him his opinion.

Hi C

Feeling similar to you....except I don't want to discharge myself from the valuable time I spend with Support Worker.

I do think it is worth having meeting with psychiatrist. Nothing ventured there, nothing gained and they might be uncharacteristically (for NHS staff) empathetic and more so able to act in your best interests. Here's hoping

And so as you don't feel it is just you....not that it will offer any practical help but had a call from somebody (who lives out of county but is on a regional rep group) to say that they had been to a conference recently and the carers were all either up in arms or in tears over the support for service users and carers in this county of ours.

Really, the MH Trust should be thoroughly ashamed of itself!

I'd say give it a go. You have nothing to lose... well,...maybe you do. But it's worth a try. See what they are like at least before you turn them down.

I know he is good.
I just don't think he can do anything to get me the support he says I need.
And him not being able to get it makes me feel I don't deserve support.
I've tried to contact him directly but without success.
