Phew!

Long, long day today. I was involved in training / development work all morning, so not teaching but grappling with new ideas and skills, and trying to teach some of them to colleagues; planning for future developments and dealing with high emotions in others. It left me tense and headachy by lunch time.

This afternoon I took a group of more able students and helped / supported / encouraged / learnt alongside them as we all grappled with html, javascript, applets and other goodies. Well outside my comfort zone in terms of capability and experience, but stimulating too. Then an ICT lesson which should have been well within my comfort zone, having taught this same lesson to other classes last week. Unfortunately the technology proved (once again) unreliable, which threw me somewhat, took me off stride.

Then marking after work till 5pm, waiting to collect E from her after school Science class. A chatty drive home, catching up with the girls' days, and a brief chill out at the computer before recommencing marking and planning. Have just stopped, ordered to do so by W. Planning and preparation all up to date (and some interesting challenges tomorrow involving the objects pictured at the side).
I've been spending so much time in the garden this Bank holiday weekend that there has been no sewing time. Although I have enjoyed being outside, I have missed that other type of creativity, and hope to fit time in tomorrow for it. There's just too little time around at the moment. I hanker after Hermione's Time Turner.
